The Community Development Commission/Housing Authority of the County of Los Angeles would like to encourage Section 8 participants and Public Housing residents to participate in the 2010 census.  The correct count of everyone living in the United States is imperative to determine the needed services in the community. 

IMPORTANT: 2010 census information is completely confidential and will not be shared with the Housing Authority of the County of Los Angeles.

Census Key Dates

Key Date 1   February - March 2010
Census questionnaires are mailed or delivered to households.
     
Key Date 2  

March - April 2010
Be Counted program is implemented. Census questionnaires are availalble at select public sites for individuals who did not receive one by mail.
     
Key Date 3   April 1, 2010

Key Date 4  

May - July 2010
Census takers visit households that did not return a questionnaire by mail.
     
Key Date 5   December 31, 2010
By law, the Census Bureau delivers population counts to the President.
     
Key Date 6  

March 2011
By law, the Census Bureau completes delivery of redistricting date to states.
