HOMEBUYER EDUCATION SEMINARS
All HOP/DPA/HERO/HERO STATE/MCC applicants must complete an 8-hour first-time homebuyer education seminar and obtain a Certificate of Completion. CDC must receive a copy of the certificate prior to the close of escrow. CDC sponsors a free 8-hour first-time homebuyer education seminar one Saturday each month. Seminars are open to the public. The facilitator will discuss issues on budget, credit, what is an escrow, how to find a lender, renter vs. homeowner, how to maintain your property after purchase, etc. Participating lenders and realtors are invited to attend to answer questions during the break and lunch hour.
