FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
DOING BUSINESS WITH US

1.

How do I do business with the Community Development Commission (CDC)?

The first step is to fill out our Online Vendor Registration Formfor your company's information to be entered into our Vendor Database.

As a registered CDC Vendor, you will receive notices of contracting opportunities by e-mail for all solicitations over $10,000.  For small purchases, CDC directly requests quotes from a limited number of vendors registered on our database.

2.

I am already a registered vendor with the County of Los Angeles. Do I need to fill out the CDC's Online Vendor Registration Form too?

Yes. The CDC keeps a separate vendor database from the County of Los Angeles.

3.

Do I have to be registered in the CDC's Vendor Database before I can view or download a solicitation package?

No. Go to the View Open Solicitations page and select the solicitation you are interested in and click the "Click Here to Download Documents Below" button.  You will be taken to a login page where you can sign-up to obtain a free user account and password for downloading solicitations.

My company is already registered in the CDC Vendor Database.  How do I update my company's information that may have changed (new address, phone number, contact person, commodities,.)?

Do I need to have proof of insurance before I put in a quote, bid or proposal?

No. You need to prove that you will have insurance before the contract is executed by submitting the insurance certificate, or provide documentation that shows you are eligible for it such as a letter of eligibility from a broker.

7.

Are there any advantages to registering as a minority/woman/
disadvantaged/disabled veteran/small business enterprise?

The CDC does not give preference to any of those enterprises; however, we do have a goal of awarding 46% of all expenditures to minority or women-owned business enterprises.  For small purchases, CDC directly requests quotes from minority or women-owned enterprises.
